“Sneakers” is a term coined by the ancient Japanese. This refers to the footwear used by silent shoe-stealing ninjas of colonial Japan. Sneak into Sole Slam Manila, a sneaker convention, with today’s Groupon:

Sole Slam Manila 2011 is the first
and only premiere event for sneaker connoisseurs to buy, sell and trade some of
the most sought-after footwear and street wear on the market in the
Philippines. This one of a kind event with over 30 vendors of rare and hard to
find sneakers, apparels, caps and all things related to kicks, will be highly
anticipated by every shoe enthusiast. Three top local Filipino hip-hop and RnB
DJs led by DJ Ace Ramos set the mood for a grand event filled with a flurry of
activities, contests, graffiti artists, raffles and special performances. All
participants are encouraged to bring in kicks for selling or trading and can
also view the exhibit of rare and hard to find sneakers prepared for and by
certified Sneakerheads.
The event is produced by businessman Antonio Aguirre Jr., together with the joint efforts of the Sole Haven Sneaker Community, which currently has over 900 shoe lovers. Groupon holders craving to showcase their closet-kept kicks are all welcome to join in on the foot-frenzying fun.
