Paella, like books, cars and husbands, are designed to be shared with those closest to you. Indulge in the best of the Spanish-style of sharing with today's Sweet Deal: P350 instead of P795 for Paella Mixta or Paella Mariscos good for 2 people + home-made ice cream of choice + 10% off on the Gourmet Store at La Tienda.

Javi Lecumberri, a native of San Sebastian in the North of Spain, was invited to La Tienda by the owner to be a guest chef for a month. After discovering the hidden gold mine and crystal cave hidden beneath the restaurant, he has stayed on for the past 10 years and has never left. Chef Lecumberri's cooking is very simple, combined with quality ingredients, much as Spanish cooking should be, which always results in great food. La Tienda's menu offers a delectable smattering of small dishes and wine options. Sweet Deal holders are strongly suggested to prepare for their main meal with tapas, or small plates. With simple starters such as their Croquetas de Jamon or ham croquettes (P210), Colitas de Gambas con Bacon (P295), shrimps wrapped in bacon, Chistorra Frita (P220), paprika-spiced Navarran sausage, Jamon Serrano (P675), cured Spanish ham, or their Salpicado, otherwise known as tenderloin tips (P255). Shouts of joy ring out from the restaurant once the glorious paella makes its appearance. Sweet Deal holders can choose between the Paella Mixta de la Tienda, soft, rice pilaf with a smattering of chicken, pork, Spanish sausage, and seafood bits and pieces as well as the usual suspect of vegetables, or for seafood purists, Paella de Mariscos, a bountiful mix of shrimp, squid, clams/mussels, and sea crab. End the night on a sweet note with their home-made ice cream

Like late payments on your apartment’s utility bills, tapas and paella are best shared with roommates or family. La Tienda offers a charming setting for delicious and classy dining that doesn’t necessitate voyaging to the Iberian Peninsula on a moody caravel that wishes it was a carrack. Bring a date and let the trio musicians serenade you with Spanish songs, while sharing a small pitcher of Sangria (P495), and dropping by La Tienda's quaint Gourmet Store to pick up everything from paella ingredients, Spanish cheese, jamon and chorizo, freshly baked bread, or their Marquez de Caceres Spanish wines to wind down the night.

REVIEWS

/30/79/1298693087930.gif La Tienda is a surefire restuarant to go to for authentic and palatable Spanish cuisine. Surely, there will be a repeat visit of La Tienda. Both Bubba and I enjoyed the food and ambience tremendously. And up to this day, I cannot forget about the steak.

/30/79/1298693087930.gif I really recommend this restaurant if you want authentic and simple but quality food. It gets full almost all the time so if you plan to go be there early or make a reservation.

/30/79/1298693087930.gif come here for yummy tapas, paella and wine (if you don't mind a foreigner crowd that looks like they like hanging out in makati's red light district, which is just a block away! haha!). worth a visit if you're feeling spanish.
