Donate to the Victims of the Torrential Monsoon Rains Enhanced by Tropical Storm HAIKUI: All Donations Will Be Given to Philippine Red Cross

While others stare half-asleep at the television set, and rejoice at the announcement that school and work have been cancelled due to the unceasing torrents of rain, other less fortunate souls scamper for shelter and save whatever’s left of their belongings. While others whine and whimper about how the electricity had been gone for hours, though safe in their homes, others pray in despair--hoping their loved ones are safe.

Though there is no current storm within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the non-stop rain brought in by the Southwest monsoon has caused major flooding in many areas of Metro Manila, and even in the provinces of Bataan, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Mindoro, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija. Already many families in Marikina, Quezon City, Pasig City and other areas have had to evacuate their homes in search of safer areas due to dangerously high floods and rising river water levels.
